(CBHL) presented its second Annual Literature Award to Ray Desmond, author of Sir Joseph Dalton Hooker: Traveller and Plant Collector, and the Antique Collector's Club, the book's publisher, on July 11, 2001. The presentation was made during the Council's annual meeting at the Denver Botanic Gardens. The award was created to recognize significant contributions to the literature of botany or horticulture.
